I own and operate ChiroQueen Concierge, LLC in Naples and co-own Hemmett Health in Vermont with my husband.

When did you decide you wanted to become a Concierge Chiropractor specializing in Women’s Health?
Focusing on women’s health has been my priority since I began my career as a chiropractor in 2002. I knew a woman’s body changed dramatically during pregnancy from a musculoskeletal standpoint, and I was determined to create an effective solution to reducing pain and empowering women to truly love and thrive during their pregnancy. It was so wonderful to help women stay pain-free and gain strength during this time. I started learning about the importance of pelvic floor health in 2008 and discovered the absence of awareness, the shame and the misunderstanding of these conditions. I began to develop a unique approach and treatment through education and compassionate, evidence-based care to diagnose, treat and heal all forms of musculoskeletal based pelvic floor dysfunction. I feel privileged and grateful to be able to offer care and support for women who struggle with this silent epidemic.

Has health and wellness always been a part of your life?
Yes! Growing up, my 3 siblings and I were always busy on one or more teams. I played softball, basketball, volleyball, track, cross country, curling, golf throughout my school days. Being active was encouraged. Into my adult life, I began running as a gateway to both my physical and mental health. I have been running daily for 28 years and counting! I cherish the personal, quiet time and the physical sweat. I either read or listen to business or motivational podcasts while on the treadmill. I balance this
with a common-sense approach to food – lots of water, minimal gluten and sugar, limitless fruits and veggies, vitamins, lots of good saturated fats (coconut oil is a mainstay), lean meats. I also love coffee, chocolate and an occasional glass of red wine – everything in moderation!

What do you recommend for someone looking to get started?
Start with committing to one small thing and do that without fail for 6 weeks so that it becomes a habit. Maybe it is walking 1 mile a day. Maybe it is drinking 8 cups of water each day. Maybe it is doing a 10- minute meditation. Whatever it is, make it manageable and enjoyable but also ABSOLUTELY non-negotiable. Once you see the results, building other health habits into this becomes logical and much easier.

If you could give one tip to fellow Mom Entrepreneurs what would it be?
Read lots of books from different mindsets and approaches to business management. I have taken little gems from many different books! Also, be patient and never give up!

One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
I have 4 tattoos – and still obsess over tiny, minimalist tattoos on Pintrest!
