A Local RESOURCE for Naples Families by a Local Mom
This site was founded with the very simple goal of Giving Moms (& Dads!) the Gift of Time. We strive to be your go-to resource for everything in and around Naples, Florida!
The Naples Moms Network seeks to provide families a place to find all the info you’re looking for when it comes to caring for & entertaining your families . Our site includes a calendar of family friendly events, local resources for our neighborhoods, special deals for our network, curated guides, and general information that we find helpful to families including highlighting the joyous chaos that comes along with being a parent.
Meet Melissa, the Mom behind thenaplesmoms.com
Born and raised in New Jersey, we have lived in Naples seasonally for the past ten years. I am the former Sr. Marketing Manager for Omega watches, turned Stay at Home Mom to our three children, Georgia (7), Freddie (5) &, Paige (3), living our best life in the Sunshine State. I love the small town feel of Naples and I’m so excited to provide a resource to make life a little easier for parents across our neighboring towns!
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT BEING A MOM
It changes every day! My kids are 7, 5 and 3 and keep me on my toes for sure, but I love having mini conversations with them and hearing the random things that come out of their mouths – that definitely tops my list!
FAVORITE ACTIVITY WITH YOUR KIDS
We love a day walking around The Naples Zoo!
FAVORITE TIME OF YEAR IN NAPLES?
Hands down the Holidays! We love driving around seeing all of the lights, and the decorations downtown. It’s truly a magical time of the year!
WHERE’S YOUR GO-TO SPOT FOR A DATE NIGHT, OR FOR DINNER WITH THE FAMILY?
We love a date night at The Continental. Try to arrive a little earlier than your reservation to have a drink at the bar and people watch! Our area has so many family-friendly options, but one we love is La Trattoria on fifth. The make their own pasta, and the music is so fun. After we like to walk to Kilwins for some ice cream (I can’t get enough of their homemade peanut butter cups either!) However, nothing beats dinner in the sand at The Turtle Club. We are patiently awaiting their reopening.
WHEN YOU HAVE FAMILY/ FRIENDS, IN TOWN, WHERE DO YOU RECOMMEND THEY STAY (IF NOT WITH YOU, OF COURSE!)?
The Ritz Carlton, Tiburon is walkable for us, and it has a few great restaurants on site plus the waterpark, which is great for kids of any age!
WHERE DO YOU GO FOR A DRINK? FOR COFFEE?
The best part about Naples is the energy and you can never go wrong on third or fifth for drinks and people watching. We love The Bevy, Trulucks, and Campiello for drinks (and apps!) I make a terrible cup of coffee so you can spot me at The Ritz most mornings or Brooklyn Dough With A Hole grabbing a cup (they have great bagels also!)
IF SOMEONE IS VISITING THE NAPLES AREA, WHAT ARE THE MUST-DO ACTIVITIES?
We have SO MANY local attractions, but I would recommend visiting The Botanical Gardens, The Train Museum, taking a shell tour or just walking around visiting the shops downtown.
ANY SEASONAL EVENTS THAT PEOPLE MIGHT PLAN A TRIP AROUND?
Nash to Naples is a family favorite as we are all country fans here, The QBE Shootout is also a fun tournament that’s right in our backyard. Fun Fact – we got engaged (at Baleen) the weekend of this tournament many moons ago!
OUR MISSION IS TO GIVE MOMS THE GIFT OF TIME; WHAT IS YOUR BEST TIME-SAVING MOM TIP?
I hate a schedule, but I am very organized, and I’ve been known to plan things months in advance! If you don’t want to miss out on things, it’s a great idea to get a head start on your planning by using our Calendar Page as great resource for this. It’s updated weekly and even gives an overview of each month so you never miss out on an activity happening around town!
